Pedometer uses the accelerometers of your iPhone/iPod Touch along with complex mathematical algorithms (using US Army calculations) to calculate the steps you take whether youre walking, jogging or running. It will also calculate the number of calories you have burnt.
Pedometer uses a simple interface which has been carefully designed and colored in order for the user to understand it at a glance during motion.
The application allows you to set a target and keep a diary to achieve your goal.
Pedometer can be used while youre using to your iPod and has a built in Lock feature.
Pros and cons of Pedometer app for iPhone and iPad
Pedometer app good for
The app works unexpectedly accurate. I strapped my iPhone to my arm and went jogging. It seemed to be within an accuracy of at least >95% without any calibration/special settings.
I dont know how useful/exact the calories counter is, but I wouldnt trust on it :)

A handy app for counting steps - calorie count seems a bit high, but I may just need to fine tune the settings.
I was skeptical about how well it would track actual steps, but with a bit of tweaking to the sensitivity setting it worked very well.
I like the diary for tracking results.
Im not sure how useful it would be if you want to track your total steps in a day as it needs to stay open and on, but for specific walking sessions its great.
Some bad moments
Cant turn on then throw in your pocket for the day without your batt totaly running out. When the app is open it will only count when its dispalayed on the screen you cant have it counting with the screen off total disappontment here.
Includes essential features, but retains simplicity. I have only checked out the "Walking" mode. My next " step" is to delete a less satisfactory APP that I purchased for the same price last week. Now I have one less device ( Pedometer ) to keep track of. Go iPhone!
I havent done anything but walk with this app yet, but so far I like it for 1) its simplicity and 2) it does what it says.
Well, here goes my first review.
I read about the other Pedometers, and this one showed more promise. Luckily I was right. Ive only used walk but it is both accurate and fun. Great at a glance visuals as advertised. Best of its kind.
Doesnt tell you how far youve gone, only how many steps youve taken and how many calories youve burned. So far Im not convinced it does that very well. This morning I went for a 2.5 mile walk and it said Id taken 83 steps and burned 3.5 calories. Somethings not right. Perhaps I can fix this with the sensitivity setting?
this app, while visualky impressive and neat, has the same issue Im seeing in other Pedometer apps, namely the program cant run in the background. Thats a significant issue for folks like me who are concerned about draining their battery while running one program.
